The major objectives of elementary physical education classes is to givethe students a sense of accomplishment as well as a good self image toward their participation in games and athletics... progression of lessons must begin on a level low enough to allow all of the students to achieve some success. As the lessons progress the level of successful completion of objectives may drop, but the initial success usually leads to higher interest and effort which result in higher levels of success...students become more active participants in playground and extracurricular activities which, at the elementary school age, is a large part of each child's socialization.

The secondary school physical education program gives students an understanding of their own physical fitness now and in the future, and lets them know how they rate physically in relation to other students in their schools and on the Presidential Fitness percentiles--nationally.

The gymnastics program is designed to develop confidence, control, and mastery of bodily movement. The technical preparation for gymnastics concerns general and specific strength, flexibility, muscular endurance, and motivation. It is a complex and difficult sport which demands a wide variety of skills.
